In November of 2023, the Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band travelled to Okinawa, Japan to redesignate the 12th Marine Regiment to the 12th Marine Littoral Regiment. The MarForPac Band has had the distinct privilege in being the musical unit to support both of the redesignations of combat regiments into Littoral Regiments. A Brass Quintet (Reinforced) remained in Okinawa to support Marine Corps Birthday Balls while the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band was supporting other musical operations in mainland Japan.
