Staff Sergeant Adam D. Dippre
Marine Detachment Naval School of Music
SSgt Dippre enlisted in the Marine Corps out of Santa Clarita, CA in May 2014. After completing recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA and Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA, he reported to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA for “A” school training as a Basic Musician and earned the Military Occupational Specialty of 5524 Musician.

In March 2015, upon graduation from the Basic Music Course, Lance Corporal Dippre was assigned to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Band in Cherry Point, NC for duty as a Trombone Instrumentalist. While there, he was promoted to Corporal in July 2015 and to Sergeant in May 2017. During his tour, Sergeant Dippre performed with the 2nd MAW Band’s Ceremonial Band, Concert Band, Brass Quintet, Brass Band, and Big Band for audiences across the East Coast. Additionally, he served in the billets of Sound Chief, Public Affairs Officer, and Trombone Section Leader. In March of 2018, Sergeant Dippre returned to the Naval School of Music to attend the Sound Reinforcement Technician Course and finished as the Honor Graduate.

In August 2018, Sergeant Dippre received orders to the Quantico Marine Corps Band in Quantico, VA to continue serving as Trombone Instrumentalist. While there, he completed the Sergeants School Seminar Program (SSSP) as the Distinguished Graduate. While with the band he served as Platoon Sergeant, Sound Chief, Administrative Chief, Unit Activity Coordinator, and was certified as an instructor for High Mobility-Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle Assistance Trainer and Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Egress Trainer Courses. In November 2021 he was promoted to Staff Sergeant.

In August 2022, Staff Sergeant Dippre was selected to attend the Unit Leader Course at the Naval School of Music. He graduated in May 2023 as the Honor Graduate and stayed on as Basic Academics Instructor. While there, he completed the Navy Instructor Training Course in July 2023 and earned the BMOS of 0951 Formal Schools Instructor. Staff Sergeant Dippre also serves the command as the Equal Opportunity Coordinator and Master Training Specialist. He currently serves as an adjunct faculty for the Marine Corps University’s College of Distance and Education Training instructing SSSP to the future generation of warfighters.

Staff Sergeant Dippre holds a Master of Fine Arts in Trombone Performance from the California Institute of the Arts and a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He is published with Ars Nova Press and Cherry Classics and has been featured in the International Trombone Journal.
