Sergeant Andrew S. Sellers
Marine Detachment Naval School of Music
Sergeant Andrew Sellers, a native of Smiths Station, AL, enlisted in the Marine Corps in October 2019, and following entry level training reported directly to MCRD San Diego as a Trombone Instrumentalist. While there, he performed in the Ceremonial Band, Concert Band, Brass Quintet, and Brass Band where he has performed across the Southwestern United States. His notable performances include The Tournament of Roses Parade, the ESPN Armed Forces Classic, and the Price is Right 4th of July Special. Notably, Sergeant Sellers was selected as a winner for the 2020 and 2021 Future Force Writing Competition. Additionally, he served as the Trombone Section Leader, Brass Quintet Ensemble Leader, Library Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, and the Information Systems Coordinator.
In 2023, Sergeant Sellers was selected to serve as the Trombone Instrumental Instructor at the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA where he currently serves. Sergeant Sellers also fulfills the duties of Assistant Command Technical Representative and Information Systems Coordinator.
Sergeant Sellers’ personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University in Columbus, GA
