Gunnery Sergeant Jason Homard currently serves as the Drum Major of the US Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band. In this capacity he directs, trains, and manages the musical performance of the Ceremonial Band while on the march and instructs band personnel in drill specific to Marine Bands. Gunnery Sergeant Homard also manages the band’s administration and operations sections.
Gunnery Sergeant Homard holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Instrumental Performance from Waldorf University.
Gunnery Sergeant Homard enlisted in the US Marine Corps in January 2012 and completed Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California and Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, California. He completed the Basic Music Course (2012) at the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Gunnery Sergeant Homard served as a French horn instrumentalist in the following Fleet Marine Bands: 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band (2012-2014); Quantico Marine Band (2014-2018); 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band (2021-2023). As do all Fleet Marine musicians, Gunnery Sergeant Homard served in a variety of music, collateral duty, and leadership roles, to include Platoon leadership.
From 2018-2021, he served as a recruiter at Recruiting Station Des Moines.
Gunnery Sergeant Homard attended the Unit Leader Course in 2023 and is a graduate of the Career School Seminar (2022). His awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3rd award).
