Staff Sergeant Daniel Paxton
Staff Sergeant Daniel Paxton is a native of Houston, TX. In 2013, Staff Sergeant Paxton earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on August 13, 2014 and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California on November 11, 2014. Following recruit training, Staff Sergeant Paxton attended Marine Combat Training at Camp Pendleton, CA and then reported to his primary Military Occupational Specialties School at the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia for the Basic Music Course as a Tuba Instrumentalist.
In May 2015, Staff Sergeant Paxton reported to MCRD Parris Island, South Carolina where he served as Tuba Instrumentalist, Section Leader, Squad Leader, Brass Band Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC), and Training NCOIC. In June 2018 he received orders to Marine Forces Pacific in Kaneohe, Hawaii where he served as Sound NCOIC, Brass Quintet NCOIC, and Platoon Sergeant. In July 2022 Staff Sergeant Paxton reported to the Marine Forces Reserve Band in New Orleans, Louisiana to serve as Section Leader, Brass Quintet NCOIC, Acting Small Ensemble Leader, and currently serving as the Enlisted Conductor.
Staff Sergeant Paxton’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas in 2013.
