Chief Warrant Officer 2 Mardia Tompo currently serves as Director, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing Band. In this capacity she serves as the officer in charge and manages, administers, and coordinates musical performances, develops budgets and annual operation plans, directs internal operations and training, and supervises the employment of a Marine Corps Fleet Band.
CWO2 Tompo enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 2009 and completed Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina and Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. She completed the Basic Music Course in 2010 at the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
CWO2 Tompo served as a clarinet instrumentalist in the following Fleet Marine Bands: III Marine Expeditionary Force Band (2010-2014). As do all Fleet Marine musicians, CWO2 Tompo served in a variety of music, collateral duty, and leadership roles, to include Platoon leadership.
CWO2 Tompo served as a Clarinet Instructor at the Naval School of Music (2014-2018) and a Musician Technical Assistant with Marine Corps Recruiting Command (2019-2022).
CWO2 Tompo was appointed a Warrant Officer and graduated from The Basic School in 2023, and she served as Director of the Parris Island Marine Band (2023-2025).
CWO2 Tompo attended the Unit Leader Course (2014) and the Senior Musician Course (2018), and she is a graduate of the Basic Recruiter Course (2019). CWO2 Tompo was the Marine Musician of the Year (2015) and the Junior Instructor of the Year for the Navy Center of Service Support and Marine Corps Intelligence Schools (2016). Her awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4th award) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd award).
