Band Officer
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Nathan D. Doggett

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Doggett enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2013 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, CA. Upon completing Recruit Training and Marine Combat Training, Private First Class Doggett transferred to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA. In May 2014, Lance Corporal Doggett graduated from the Basic Musicians Course and received orders to the III Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) Band in Okinawa, Japan.

While with the III MEF Band, he served as Tuba Instrumentalist, Section Leader, Library Chief, Assistant Enlisted Conductor, and Acting Enlisted Conductor. Most notable was his direct involvement in a myriad of international performances, including the 2015 Guam Liberation Day, the 2015 Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) International Marching Festival at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan, and the 2016 Joint Concert with the JGSDF 15th Brigade Band.

In December 2016, Sergeant Doggett detached from III MEF to attend the Naval School of Music’s Unit Leader Course. Upon graduation in August of 2017, Sgt Doggett was selected to remain on staff as the Tuba Instructor and Ceremonial Band Conductor. In February 2020, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and selected as an Enlisted Conductor BMOS shortly after. Staff Sergeant Doggett received orders at the end of 2020 to serve as the Enlisted Conductor for the 1st Marine Division Band.

Upon arriving at the 1st Marine Division Band in July 2021, Staff Sergeant Doggett assumed the responsibilities as the unit’s Enlisted Conductor. He conducted over 100 ceremonies and concerts throughout his tour, including San Francisco Fleet Week and the San Diego Summer Music Institute. Additionally, he found himself in the Indo-Pacific again, supporting the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. In February 2023, he was appointed to the rank of Warrant Officer Doggett. After attending the Warrant Officer Basic Course at The Basic School in Quantico, VA, he graduated in May 2023 among the top 10% on the Commanding General’s Honor Roll.

In June 2023, Warrant Officer Doggett arrived for duty as Band Officer and Officer in Charge of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. He was promoted to his current rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2 in August 2024.

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Doggett holds a Bachelors in Music Education from Western Illinois University and a Masters in Arts Administration from the University of Kentucky. His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4th award) and the Navy Achievement Medal (4th award).
