Gunnery Sgt. Kevin M. Dalton
GySgt Dalton enlisted in the Marine Corps in September 2005 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. Upon completing Recruit Training and Marine Combat Training, Private First Class Dalton transferred to the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA in February 2006. Lance Corporal Dalton graduated the Naval School of Basic Musician Course in August 2006 and received orders to Parris Island Marine Band in Parris Island, SC, where he served as Saxophone Instrumentalist and Assistant Instrument Repair Technician (IRT) until July 2010.
Sergeant Dalton reported to the Basic Recruiter Course in San Diego, CA in July 2010. After successful completion of training, he reported to Recruiting Station Louisville, KY, Recruiting Substation Fairfield, OH serving as a Canvassing Recruiter until November 2013.
Sergeant Dalton reported to 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW) Band in Cherry Point, NC in November 2013, serving as a Saxophone Instrumentalist, Platoon Sergeant, and Assistant IRT In November 2014, he was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Staff Sergeant Dalton continued to serve at 2nd MAW Band until September 2017, when he received order to Quantico Marine Band in Quantico, VA.
Staff Sergeant Dalton reported to Quantico Marine Band in September 2017, where he served as Saxophone Instrumentalist and Assistant Instrument Repair Technician (IRT) until being directed to attend the Unit Leader Course (ULC) at the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA In September 2020, Staff Sergeant Dalton reported for training at the ULC at the Naval School of Music, successfully completing the course in April 2021.
Staff Sergeant Dalton reported to 2nd MAW Band in May 2021 where he served as Saxophone Instrumentalist, Assistant IRT, and Acting Drum Major. In March 2023, Staff Sergeant Dalton was selected for the billet Drum Major and began serving as Drum Major for 2nd MAW Band. In July 2023, he was promoted to his current rank of Gunnery Sergeant.
Gunnery Sergeant Dalton holds certificate in Ground Safety Management, OSHA Compliance, and Lean Six Sigma. Gunnery Sergeant Dalton’s personal awards include Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4th Award) and Marine Corps Recruiting Ribbon, and Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (6th Award).
