Chief Warrant Officer 5 Andres Navarro currently serves as Director of the Quantico Marine Band. In this capacity he serves as the officer in charge and principal conductor. He manages, administers, and coordinates musical performances, develops budgets and annual operation plans, directs internal operations and training, and supervises the employment of a Marine Corps Fleet Band.
CWO5 Navarro holds a Bachelors in Music Performance from Grambling State University, a Master of Music in Instrumental Conducting from San Diego State University, and has completed the Doctoral coursework in Music Education from Boston University.
CWO5 Navarro enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 2004 and completed Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina and Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He completed the Basic Music Course in 2005 at the Armed Forces School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
CWO5 Navarro served as an instrumentalist in the following Fleet Marine Bands: Marine Band San Diego (2005-2008) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band (2008-2011). As do all Fleet Marine musicians, CWO5 Navarro served in a variety of music, collateral duty, and leadership roles, to include Platoon leadership.
CWO5 Navarro served as a Drill Instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego from 2011-2013.
CWO5 Navarro was appointed a Warrant Officer and graduated from The Basic School in 2013, and served as the Director of the following Fleet Marine Bands: 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band (2013-2016); III Marine Expeditionary Force Band (2016-2019); 1st Marine Division Band (2019-2022); and the US Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band (2022-2025).
CWO5 Navarro attended Drill Instructor School (2011) and is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School (2013) and Command and Staff College (2022). His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2nd award).
