Chief Warrant Officer 3 DeMarius D. Jackson enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve in 2002. Upon completion of recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC, CWO3 Jackson reported to Ammunition Company, 4th Supply Battalion in Greenville, SC for duty as an ammunition technician. In 2002 he applied and was accepted into the Platoon Leaders Course and later graduated from Officer Candidates School (OCS) in August of 2004.
After completing OCS, CWO3 Jackson completed his undergraduate education. He decided to decline his commission as a Marine Officer and pursue a career as an enlisted member of the Marine Corps Music Program. CWO3 Jackson was then sent to the basic course at the Armed Forces School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA.
After completing the basic course, CWO3 Jackson reported to Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC, for duty as a saxophone instrumentalist with the 2d Marine Division Band. In 2007, CWO3 Jackson deployed with 2nd Battalion 10th Marines to Camp Fallujah in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08 where he served as Sergeant of the Guard.
In 2008, CWO3 Jackson attended the Unit Leader Course at the Armed Forces School of Music. Upon graduation from the Unit Leader Course and the completion of a successful staff appraisal, CWO3 Jackson, remained on staff at the School of Music as a saxophone and rehearsal division instructor and as the head instructor of the woodwind division. Later that year, CWO3 Jackson was the recipient of the Marine Musician of the Year Award. After a successful tour as an instructor, CWO3 Jackson attended and completed the Senior Musician Course. In June 2012, CWO3 Jackson was transferred to the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band in Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the Small Ensemble Leader and Enlisted Conductor. In 2013, CWO3 Jackson was the recipient of the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Musician of the Year award.
In November 2014, CWO3 Jackson was selected to become a Band Officer. After completing The Basic School in Quantico, VA, CWO3 Jackson reported to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band in Cherry Point, NC. In August of 2017, CWO3 Jackson reported to the Marine Forces Reserve Band in New Orleans, LA as the Band Officer, and in July 2019, he reported to his current duty station. In August of 2019, he was promoted to his current rank. CWO3 Jackson is a graduate of Expeditionary Warfare School and has a Master of Music Degree from Rowan University.
