Master Gunnery Sergeant Robert Marroquín is currently serving as Band Marketing and Production Chief, Marine Corps Fleet Music, where he oversees service-level strategic music marketing and communication of the Marine Corps Fleet Bands on behalf of the Director of Communication, Communication Directorate, Headquarters Marine Corps.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1998 and completed Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. He subsequently completed the Basic Music Course in 1999 at the Armed Forces School of Music in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín served as an instrumentalist in the following Fleet Marine Bands: Marine Air Ground Combat Center Band (1999-2001); III Marine Expeditionary Force Band (2001-2005); 1st Marine Division Band (2005-2007; 2009-2013); and Marine Band San Diego (2013-2014; 2018-2021). As do all Fleet Marine musicians, Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín served in a variety of music, collateral duty, and leadership roles, to include Platoon leadership.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín graduated the Basic Recruiter Course in 2014 and was assigned as the Musician Technical Assistant for the 8th Marine Corps Recruiting District from 2014-2018.
In 2004, Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín deployed in support of the tsunami relief, Operation Unified Assistance, Thailand. In 2012, Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, 1st Marine Division (Forward), Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquín attended the Unit Leader Course, Sound Reinforcement Course, and the Senior Musician Course at the Naval School of Music from 2007 to 2009. Master Gunnery Sergeant Marroquin is a graduate of The Recording Workshop and Los Angeles Recording School.
